Rebecca Coote

Bio

Born in Melbourne in 1974 Rebecca now lives and works in Hobart, Tasmania. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts, receiving first class honours, in 2003 and in 2007 was awarded a Master of Fine Art (Research Higher Degree) from the Tasmanian School of Art, University of Tasmania. In 2004 Rebecca received the CAST Craft Mentorship and an Arts Tasmanian grant to train in the kiln techniques of glass fusing, a technique she continues to explore and develop in a sculptural way. Her practice crosses the boundaries between art/craft and design to produce sculptures, lights, architectural installations and large-scale public art commissions. Rebecca's work is held in a number of private collections in Australia and worldwide. Rebecca is represented by Handmark Gallery, Hobart.
